The DSAA graphic design and cultural mediation<\/strong> aims to train graphic designers specialized in visual didactics, capable of carrying out cultural mediation projects on scientific, artistic or humanities-related subjects<\/strong>. Students work on both real and fictional projects for museums, town halls, nature parks, research groups and more.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The course combines research, reflection and experimentation on the one hand and professional training on the other. It is based on project-based teaching and tackles topical issues. This two-year course is a logical, but not systematic, continuation of studies after a DNMADe, a bachelor’s degree<\/strong> or any equivalent related to the speciality. It is a national professional diploma that prepares students for a professional career as a designer in a wide range of creative and applied design professions.<\/p>

Classified at level 7 of the European Qualifications<\/strong> Framework, the DSAA design leads to 120 ECTS credits in the European Higher Education Area (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

During the first year, students continue to perfect their technical skills, deepen their theoretical knowledge and develop individual or group projects<\/strong>. They also begin to develop their degree project. The year ends with a three-month work placement<\/strong>, which helps students to develop their professional skills and establish contacts that will be useful in their future careers.<\/p>

In the second year, students focus on their personal project.<\/strong> This project, and the dissertation used to prepare it, are presented to juries of professionals, researchers and teachers. Professional partners are directly involved throughout the year in monitoring and awarding the diploma.<\/b><\/p>

Workshops, conferences, lectures,<\/strong> etc. are organised on a regular basis, and students can be directly involved in the choice of speakers. Chaumont students also regularly take part in events organised by the Signe (the national graphic design centre), a key partner in the course, and run workshops as part of the Les Graphistes affich\u00e9s association<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Graduates of a DSAA in graphic design are capable of working as art directors<\/b> in offices or design studios, either freelance or as part of a company in the fields of publishing, communication, etc.<\/p>

Students holding a DSAA who wish to do so can also pursue research activities as part of doctoral studies.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The course is run in partnership with the Centre national du graphisme and the town of Chaumont<\/a>, and occasional collaborations are regularly organised with museums, training courses and companies. These collaborations are organised either by the teaching staff or by the students themselves, depending on the needs of their research project.
